Required Training Every Year

Every year, Little League emphasizes the crucial role of its volunteers in creating a safe and nurturing environment for young athletes. To ensure that every volunteer is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge, Little League mandates the completion of two essential training courses: Diamond Leader and Abuse Awareness Training. The Diamond Leader course is designed to foster a positive and well-rounded experience for children both on and off the field, promoting essential values such as teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship. Meanwhile, the Abuse Awareness Training focuses on safeguarding the well-being of all participants, emphasizing the importance of creating a secure and supportive atmosphere within the Little League program.

In addition to these mandatory courses, Little League also offers a variety of optional training programs to further enhance volunteers’ understanding of the organization's operations and best practices. These initiatives reflect Little League's commitment to the development and safety of its players, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive in a positive sports environment.

Regular Season Pitching Rules

Little League has always placed safety as a top priority, and is continually striving to provide children with healthy and safe baseball and softball opportunities. For more than a decade, the Little League program has been at the forefront of promoting arm safety for youth pitchers. As we continue to work to make baseball a safe, fun sport for all children, Little League is proudly supporting the efforts of Major League Baseball and USA Baseball through the Pitch Smart campaign.

The eligibility of a player to pitch in a Little League® Baseball, Softball, or Challenger game is governed by a tiered pitch count that is tied to the number of pitches thrown in a game. The pitch count determines how many days of rest are required before said player may pitch again.

Bat Information

Understanding the rules and regulations surrounding bats is essential for players, coaches, and parents involved in Little League. Little League has specific guidelines to ensure that all bats used in games are safe and appropriate for young athletes. These regulations cover bat types, sizes, and performance standards, helping to create a level playing field while prioritizing the safety of all participants. This introduction will provide key information about approved bat specifications and highlight the importance of adhering to these rules for a fair and enjoyable baseball experience.
